In the dark of the night, in the deepest depths of the streets of Toontown where nobody can hear you go sad... the Halloween havoc begins...
Introduction
Trick or Treat everybody! It's the most exciting time for us yet, Halloween! I'm really happy to show off our new Halloween themed logo, but I'll talk more on that later. I should probably introduce myself, as I haven't been on featured on here before. My in-game name is Kingfish but I am better known as Sebastian, and I run all of the Operation: Dessert Storm social media. Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Discord moderation, in-game moderation, and now the news! The posts you've seen around recently have been my work and I'm proud to be working on this project. Without further delay, let's get into the topic of today's blog post:
Halloween in Toontown!
This month, we have our annual Halloween celebration on Operation: Dessert Storm. Starting now, you will be able to purchase Halloween costumes in the catalog. The Vampire, Super Toon, Toonosaur, Bee, Turtle, Pirate, and Skeleton costumes are all here to add a little more to the Halloween experience. To make Halloween a little more immersive, I've taken our logo and redesigned it to fit the holiday's theme. Immediately you will notice that the colors, fonts, and graphics have been changed. I hope to get versions of the logo done for all in-game holidays like Easter and Winter. Halloween starts on October 20th and ends on November 3rd, so get your costumes and estate decorations while you can. You'll also be able to Trick or Treat in Toontown in order to obtain a pumpkin head and some jellybeans! Here's our hints for Trick or Treating!
Treat or Treat Hints!
-Toontown Central
The first spot on our list will by far set this off with a bang!
-Donald's Dock
Finding this next location will really tie you up! Prepare for rainy weather and find the street with something to light your way!
-Daisy's Gardens
Good job! This next location will take you a long time. Be prepared to move at a snails pace, but enjoy the scenery!
-Minnie's Melodyland
Seems that you've gotten good at this, but I almost feel bad pawning off this next clue to you! Prepare for terror in Melodyland!
-The Brrrgh
I think it's nice to see you so dedicated. You're a cool cat in my book!
-Donald's Dreamland
Great job, now only one clue remains! Did you watch how much free time you had to complete this riddle?
Becoming a Black Cat!
Black Cat Day is on the 31st of October, which is Halloween night. In order to become a black cat (or a white bear!) you must have completed the quest for the pumpkin head with the list of clues above. Simply talk to Picture Purrfect in Donald's Dreamland with a pumpkin head and a Toon you want to become different colored. Anyone can freely take their Toons to participate in the Halloween activities. Now that we've fully discussed the Halloween event, let's take a moment to talk about what we have in store for the future.
Operation: Dessert Storm Gets Social!
Recently we've been putting a huge effort into upgrading our social media presence. We believe that the lack of new players has been largely due to a lack of people even knowing we exist. There's no official trailer, the Twitter was basically a ghost town for quite some time, and the website's update section does not currently reflect the state of the game. As it stands now, the updates section states that the last update was 06/28/2018, leaving people under the impression that we haven't even touched the game in two years, which isn't accurate to reality. In reality, the last time the game has been updated was 09/07/2020 when the server the game runs on was reworked and upgraded. Of course, we haven't had any major content update, but we're definitely still dedicated to cultivating the community and making it bigger. On our Twitter and Instagram, we have a new series of "cards" showing off little pieces of S.O.S. card lore and game tips. We fully plan to continue these posts and expand their coverage beyond S.O.S. Toons. I would personally like to make Cog cards, smaller simple tutorial videos to be posted on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, showcase personal experiences had in-game sent in by players, and our trailer showing off every feature we have to offer. On our Discord server, we've recently hit the boost requirements for Level 1, which allows us to have an animated server icon, server invite images, and much more. If you have any other suggestions for the game or the social media, don't be afraid to send us a message in the server, tweet us, or message us on Instagram.
In Conclusion
Today, we talked about:
-Our new Halloween logo.
-Trick or Treating in Operation: Dessert Storm.
-Black Cat Day.
-State of the social media and website.
-Future plans for the social media.
We hope you enjoyed today's blog post. This marks the beginning of a new era for us, so we would love to see a bunch of new faces in Toontown after this goes up. If everything goes well, this won't be the only blog post this month! I would like to release one when the trailer is ready to be released and detail everything that went into the production of it. To join our community, please follow us on Twitter and Instagram, and join our Discord server.
Have a Toontastic Halloween! We can't wait to talk to you again.
