Play Store Questionnaire Results

Previously, we asked all Android on Toontown beta testers to answer one question:
Would you like to see Toontown on the Play Store?

Here are the answers to that question. Most responses are positive, while some are negative.
All of them are available here to be viewed.

I'd just like to see how it would do. I mean, you can't know how it would do unless you try it.
It could help expand the playerbase and get a new generation of Toontown players hooked on the game, as well as provide a brighter future for Toontown.
More people will find out about Toontown, increasing the amount of players in the community, and possibly encouraging Disney to bring back TTO in mobile form.
I think it's a good idea because of family vacations, and being on the road. Oh no! I have to go shopping with my parents! Oh wait, I can play on mobile!
Toontown is an amazing game and needs to be played more, by more people around the world.
Toontown could gain popularity and attract a bigger fanbase with this feature.

Mobile gaming is more prominent in the gaming market and literally everyone has a cellphone now, so seeing my childhood game on Android would be great - it could possibly get more users into the game, and hopefully grow the fanbase.

More people from outside the game could discover it, even though I am not sure if it's legal to publish content that originally belonged to Disney.
It would provide more availability, however, it may need some work, as battery usage is questionable.
If optimized correctly, it would allow for people to enjoy more and more time on ODS.
It's an important step in bringing Toontown to the modern era and crowd.

The reason why I think adding Toontown (ODS) to the Play Store is a great idea, is that the Android community is big, so it could attract a large audience to the game. This is also a big milestone for Toontown.

If someone's computer broke, it would still be on the Play Store.
Everyone with an Android device who had a Toontown account as a kid can live it up again! Toontown would also get many more players if ODS is released on the Play Store!
I think it would be great, because a lot of times, I can't play ODS somewhere else, because I use a computer, not a laptop.
I do not play Toontown, so I don't really care.
Having Toontown on the Play Store could finally bring attention to this game from the mobile side, like what Disney has been trying to do for a while. If they saw what was being done, they would feel inspired to bring Toontown back or make a new game related to Toontown.
It could get more people to notice Toontown, and make the community grow!
It brings something new to the table that other Toontown servers cannot rival. It has a really interesting concept, and I would like to be able to try this out. ODS has brought something game changing and new to Toontown servers.
It will be very convenient to have Toontown on mobile, because Toontown is a game on which you have to spend a lot of time to progress, and this will help make the game more enjoyable and fun!
I think it would be a good idea, so people can just download and play. It would be easy for people because they won't need to download the APK and such.
It would make it portable, so when I'm out, I could play it :D
I am a owner and a developer of 2 different servers, and I am ready to play!
Toontown is a game that would work very well portable.
Having Toontown on another platform will bring in a larger playerbase and may show to Disney that there still is interest in Toontown, which could make them decide to work on a sequel to the original game.
It will bring more players that wanted it on mobile since TTO.
It would be cool to play Toontown on the go.
It's a neat thing to have a Toontown server on mobile and available to the public. I think it's something definitely worth trying. My laptop is getting old and handles games frustratingly terribly so I don't use it much anymore. ODS on mobile is therefore convenient to me, and I'm sure it will be convenient to others as well.
Personally, I think that Toontown on mobile would be a good idea. Sometimes people don't have PCs and all they have is their phone. So this being on mobile could be good.
I am a very good tester, I report bugs and all that fun stuff.
I love to play Toontown Operation Dessert Storm!
It'd be more accessible for people without computers, and those who happen to have Android devices and are on the go!

I've been waiting to see Toontown on mobile for years! I would be so happy to be able to show Toontown to my friends on the bus in the afternoon! Plus, it looks really good!
It would allow a wider demographic of people including mobile gamers and younger players that might not know about this amazing reincarnation of such a nostalgic game.
Having Toontown on the Play Store would make the game more accessible to players who want to play but cannot, especially if they have no Wi-Fi at home.

If someone is at a place and they don't have a computer or laptop around to use, they still have an Android device to play ODS on. This is what I call Toon Enough! Toons of the World UNITE!
I believe it would be a great game to release on the Play Store, as it will result in a bigger population on the server, aswell as getting users to know that Toontown is back, as well as new players who may have not played before.

This is taking Toontown in a completely new direction - everyone has always known Toontown as a PC game, not a mobile game. Taking it to mobile would be an amazing idea and would get a whole new community involved.

Disyer is a god and the introduction of Toontown on mobile is incredible for the whole community.
People who don't have computers but have phones can now access Toontown - maybe they saw a friend play it and got hooked on it and now want to play it, but they don't have computers, only phones - so they can just download the game and have the same equal gameplay as people on desktops/laptops!
It opens up the possibility to those who don't have computers or laptops.
Toontown is a game you play when you are at home with nothing to do, but on the Play Store, it would be accessible anywhere.
It helps expand Toontown to newer generations!

Toontown is such a fantastic game, and I believe it would be an amazing Android app.
More people like me could enjoy Toontown again. And this is as good as the computer game. Wow, you've got a great game.
There is no Toontown on mobile - this will be the next generation of Toontown, and it will also get you more players.
It would make it easy to do tasks on the go, especially on tablets. If you don't have a laptop but you're going out of town to a hotel, you could still play Toontown on your mobile device!
I believe that Toontown has such a dedicated and close-knit community that bringing it to the Google Play Store would be an amazing way to bring new people into the community, and allow seasoned players to also play on the go.
It would be easier to access. It could also bring it closer to an iOS app.
You could play ANYWHERE if you have data! Because, with TTR, you can ONLY play on PC!
Maybe someone will stumble onto it and become a new player.
Toontown is a great game for friends and family. Not everyone has a great PC, but phones are more common.
We never had a Toontown game on mobile!

Though fairly risky, putting it on the Play Store has the potential of reviving the game and/or bringing new people into the Toontown community.
It could bring the game to many new people, who very well might enjoy it, also it could maybe spark a new fire into people who had long since forgotten or stopped playing the game.
It's fun and it would be good to experiment with the capabilities and design with the Android GUI, etc.
Steam Greenlight worked well for Altis.
I've played the traditional PC version before, and it's great. I think adding a more mobile version of it could enable the option of being able to bring the fun along with you wherever you go and at the same time aswell, giving a fresh start and almost "new " sort of way to play the game. I think it could really be a neat version of the game.
It would bring in new players, and it would be really cool to see.

I feel like bringing a Toontown game to mobile is a really cool and creative idea. Having the old Toontown memories and the new ones which this game offers on the move really feels like a new step for the ODS community and maybe for the others as a whole.
The game is small enough but can be very enjoyable and immersive. Many would play it.
It would be the first private server on the Play Store and I think it would be fun for everyone to enjoy.
A few reasons: 1. I can show my friends the game and get them to try them out. 2. It will bring a lot of toons into the game, so the game is more funner. 3. It will show Disney that Toontown can still live on and have a good lifecycle. 4. I can play Toontown on the go and get some extra ToonTasks done. I hope that this will change ODS for the better.

Having Toontown on the Play Store is a great idea as it can bring more people to the game.
It will allow the game to be accessed from a very portable device which can be used in places where laptops are not convenient. Android users could perform small tasks such as golfing/fishing/gardening whenever you're away from a computer; the convenience level would be very high.
It gives the audience multiple platforms to play the game in, attracting more players who prefer playing games on mobile.

It would be more convenient to access the great game Toontown! I hope it will be in the Play Store for free to prevent getting sued by Disney... However, the phones are too tiny to play on, but we can still play on iPads, Android TVs, etc... I don't say that Toontown in the Play Store is a bad idea, I say that putting it on a lot of stores would probably be better!
Now people can play during school or on the go, bringing more people to the game.
I would love for it to be on the Google Play Store, but that would never happen as Disney would sue you through the floor and shut down your project.
I believe more people will finally have access to Toontown, as lots of players seem to have moved onto mobile devices. I also think it'd be a cool idea to be able to play Toontown on my phone! :D
Operation Dessert Storm is awesome and I would love to play it on the go.
Cause Toontown on devices would be great. If you don't have a computer and you're a big Toontown fan, you can still play on your phone - a lot of people have a phone. Plus, Operation Dessert Storm is a unique server - the Prologue is amazing, they have new Toons and a new Cog Hq. I love how Toontown servers like you try new things, and putting it on phones and tablets would be amazing. This is why Toontown should be on devices.

I am a giant Toontown fan, I've been playing since TTO and recently maxed TTR. It's an awesome game and I would love to see it on mobile.

The game I've always admired was Toontown growing up and was upset when it shut down, when Rewritten came out, I was pumped, now to know I can play it on the go is extremely exciting.

This seems to be pretty good, and from what I've been told by a friend, it has native support for Android. I haven't heard of any other Toontown servers having native support for Android, though I could be wrong, but even so, this is looking to be pretty interesting.
Some people don't have a computer, so I think having ODS on Android is a GREAT idea!
Toontown is a fun game, and it is better when you play with friends. Having it on the go would greatly facilitate that. Also, I am addicted to Toontown, so it would be great to have another avenue to play it.

My kids and I played the official game when it came out in beta. We were one of the first people to play the beta. It is a game that has a great significance to us. We look back on it as a great family bonding experience. Since the original is no longer out, we are very pleased to find this game we can play together and recreate our experience. Being on an app, it makes playing together even easier because we have our phones with us all the time, and don't have to be home to play on a computer.
I have an Android phone and I think it would be a great idea, because you can play Toontown on the go!
Toontown on the go would be a really nice idea; considering Disney has Club Penguin Island, Toontown Operation Dessert Storm on Android would be a ton of fun if you can pull it off really well. I believe in you, Disyer!

You wouldn't just have to wait until you get back home to do tasks, doodle training, and gag training. You could just play on the go in the car, cafe, and school (if you can get away with it).

Some people don't have access to computers or they are not allowed to download games. I feel like it would be amazing and this is the next step for all of technology. I'm really happy that you guys are doing this and I'm so excited, being that Toontown is my favorite childhood game. Another reason why this is a great idea is because most people have Android devices - it could be a phone or an iPad, either way you would get more downloads on it when you open it to the public, because it's new and it's exciting. That's why I think it would be a brilliant idea to have Toontown on the Play Store.
I believe that having Toontown on the Play Store will be a benefit for many reasons. First of all, more people can play, we can have more players on at a time, people can play on the go, so there will be many players to play with at more time. A second reason would be because it would show other private servers and other developers that Toontown on mobile is possible, it would allow for such a revolutionary step in the Toontown community. Lastly, it would be very different, because I don't think you could have the same Toontown on mobile as you would on a compter, so it would be very interesting to see what you guys do with the idea of Toontown on mobile. Also, I think if you do add Toontown on mobile, it should also support iOS users, because many people do not have Android devices.

Plenty of online MMORPGs are exploring the potential of the mobile market and other supporting platforms. Take Roblox for example, a massive MMO of creativity. They've expanded to iOS, Android, and XBOX One. With a game as simple as Toontown, the very same could be accomplished.
I'd love to be able to play the game away from PC. Gives it a new sense of mobility and accessibility for new generations of toons.
The game was important to so many kids in the 00's and it would be great to play it on our smartphones, since we spend most of our time on them.

I enjoy Toontown but I am away from my home a lot. On the go this would have more of a purpose for me.

Toontown has never been a demanding game and mostly everything from a Samsung Galaxy S1 to a OnePlus 3T can run it, so why not let them run it?
Toontown is a great game that doesn't involve too many actions that would make it too difficult to play on mobile. It would be a fun game to play on roadtrips or while waiting in line without needing a computer! This game has brought joy to many people throughout its years, and bringing it to mobile will just further that joy!

Toontown is a fairly casual game, a lot can be done within 10-30 minutes intervals and therefore it's fit for mobile usage.
The new generation can experience this amazing MMORPG that is in our lifes since 2005.

First off, Toontown is a great game. However, not many people know about Toontown. I think putting Toontown on the Play Store will allow Toontown to get more fame and become better known. Toontown could really use the extra fame currently as most youtubers for the game are moving on and since Disney closed Toontown Online, many people have refused to download the newer Toontown; in which case they don't know what new had been added. The only problem with putting it on the Play Store I can think of is Disney. Disney stopped not only Toontown but Club Penguin as well to work on mobile games, and if they figure out Toontown is on a mobile device, they might want to try and take the name back and make something like the new mobile Club Penguin game. I am not a gamer, but Toontown and now TTR have both drawn me in to play. I am not always new my computer and would love the ability to play on my Android. If the game were available at the App Store I am sure many others would feel the same.

I believe Google's Play Store policy prohibits apps that infringe upon intellectual property of other companies. Even if you take all of Disney's licensed characters and likeness (like the Mickey symbol) out of the game, all game assets are still technically the property of Disney. Though Disney has let private servers slide through, attempting to put it on the Play Store might not fly well with Google, and may give private servers avoidable negative attention.
Putting Toontown on any online store, even if it's free, sounds super sketchy. How is this any different from the TTPA Steam Greenlight fiasco?
I don't think it would be a good idea to put ODS onto the Play Store, since it would be putting Toontown under your name when really it's not yours.

ODS on Play Store is the same situation as PA on Steam. Just because it's on mobile doesn't mean it doesn't violate copyright law.

Although I believe this has potential, it seems like a risky idea to put a game that isnt 100% stable on mobiles, considering people are already having problems on computers, which means that it would be a really buggy experience, considering in my opinion it should be fully working well on the computer first.

Yes, you're going to get a lot of new people that played or have heard of Toontown, but you're also going to get people that won't tolerate the bugs. The Google Play platform is usually more for the side of completed games, and if people will complain about games that are completed, they will probably give your game bad reviews, even if it isn't a "bad game. It would not be a good idea because Disney trademarked Toontown and you'd get in trouble with the law. This is the thing that nobody seems to understand these days.
Personally, I don't think that it would be a smart move to put Toontown on the Play Store, simply because of the obvious probability of legal trouble occurring. Even if Operation: Dessert Storm is completely free, if Disney notices people putting intellectual property up on the Play Store, it would basically be a one-way ticket to a legal Hell, so to speak.
Disney may be against it. I don't think this game needs an overload of attention. At least not until every bug is worked out of it and until it can handle many players.
